Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards 2020
Incisive Media is delighted to launch the Women in Accountancy and Finance Awards 2020, an exciting new opportunity to showcase the achievements of women in practice, business and the third sector.
The accounting profession has made significant strides down the road to creating a genuinely diverse, equal opportunities sector. Major firms and organisations have been transparent about their gender pay gap, and flexible working conditions are commonplace. But there is still a long way to go to reduce the pay gap and break the glass ceiling that impacts the career prospects of women in accountancy practices and at board level. Those who make it to the top are outstanding role models, but we all know there are still far too few women at the top.
About the Awards
These awards will honour the inspiring achievements of women across all segments of accountancy and will also help shape the discussion around how we can improve diversity within the sector as we highlight some of the most forward-thinking initiatives. We hope these will help move the diversity agenda forward, especially for women, as everyone knows there are still many issues to be addressed and challenges overcome. Showcasing excellence and achievement is a vital tool in the continuing battle to establish equality across all parts of the industry and in all roles.
We hope you will take this opportunity to either nominate yourself or a valued colleague for these awards and we look forward to revealing our finalists and winners later in the year.
The awards are open to women who are qualified with either: One of the CCAB bodies (ACCA; ICAEW; ICAS; CAI; CIPFA); CIMA; JIEB-qualified (insolvency); or CIOT. Some categories cover either students of these bodies or AAT/ATT-qualified.
Our new categories, added onto our existing list, will recognise the inspirational achievements and challenges faced by women providing accountancy and related services (eg. tax, audit, accounting, payroll, bookkeeping). Eligibility covers women outside of ACCA; ICAEW; ICAS; CAI; CIPFA); CIMA; JIEB-qualified (insolvency); or CIOT membership.
The nominees must work in the UK, although they can service international clients.
Please note a person can only be nominated in a maximum of 3 categories. Women currently on a career break can also be nominated. Please refer to category eligibility criteria for more details.
